If you’re a Foodie, this event is right up your alley. Make sure to mark Thursday, April 12, 2018 on your calendar. Why? For sampling food and drink, of course!
April 12th is Kansas City’s 5th Annual Bacon & Bourbon Festival, dubbed Hog Heaven. Who can resist such an enticing nickname?
The event will be at The Guild Kansas City. If you’re not familiar with The Guild, it’s a unique event space located in the creative Crossroads district of Kansas City at 1621 Locust Street, a quick 12 minute drive from Southmoreland on the Plaza. The festival is presented by Bulleit Bourbon—-don’t you just love that name? This year there are over 20 bourbons available for sampling. A partial taste test listing, plus others yet to be announced, include Bulleit (of course!), Pinckney Bend Horse, George Remus, Crown Royal, Lagavulin, Seagram’s, Talisker and Oban. Finally, popular demand is bringing back The Whiskey War, where local bartenders create limited edition specialty cocktails. A worthy challenge indeed.
Now that you know about the bourbon offerings at the festival, remember, that is only half of the sampling menu. You’ll need a little food in your stomach to go along with all that fine bourbon! Nibble on delectable treats from local restaurants including Hogshead, District Pour House, Parker at the Fontaine, HopCat, Cluster Truck, Pig & Finch, Crazy Good Eats, Homesteader Cafe, with more to be announced.
To top things off, there will be live music from two stages featuring Grassfed and Whiskey for the Lady (whose name, just like Bulleit Bourbon, we adore!).
