Thirsty…. for beer? But of course, you are!

When the summer (and humidity!) kick in here in Kansas City, an icy cold beer tastes even better.  If craft brews are your thing, Kansas City can deliver!  After you’ve had your satisfying breakfast here at Southmoreland, and perhaps a little nap, take the afternoon to visit a few of our local brewery hot spots.  The list is longer than you might think, and here are just a few suggestions for your hoppy consideration.

If you are the sort who prefers someone else to lay out the agenda, the Kansas City Tap Tour is just the ticket!  Here’s how it works:  For $7, you can pick up a Guidebook from one of the official purchase locations.  The location closest to the Inn is McCoy’s Public House in Westport, but they may also be purchased at VisitKC Visitors Center on 13thand Baltimore, Amerisports Brew Pub, Boulevard Brewing Company, KC Bier Company, Cinderblock Brewing Company, and Border Brewing Company.

With Guidebook in hand, visit as many of the participating breweries as you wish.  Present your Guidebook at the brewery, collect a stamp for your book, drink up while scoring some special deals, and know that completed Guidebooks can be redeemed for prizes at Bunker (close by in Westport), Normal Human (they stock awesome t-shirts), or VisitKC.

All the festivity of beer sampling without all the headache of planning.   What’s not to love?

On the other hand, maybe you are the sort who wants to skip the brewery tours and head right for the craft beer bar!  If that’s your M.O., here’s a short list of some of the many options KC has to offer. Links for each location are given so you can learn more about each bar and pick the one that fits the bill.
